What does the word prosperous mean biblically?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n There are many and varied opinions about the word \u201cprosperity.\u201d And due to excesses in some quarters of the Christian community, the image of prosperity has been compromised. Therefore, to get a balanced look at the true meaning of the word \u201cprosperity,\u201d we will go to the original Greek text.<\/span><\/p>\n\u202d\u202d3 John\u202c \u202d1:2\u202c \u202dTPT\u202c\u202c<\/strong> \n\u201cBeloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/noscript><\/p>\nThe Greek word for \u201cprosperity\u201d is: <\/span>Eu-odou<\/i>= good path or good journey.<\/strong><\/p>\n Other words related to this are: direction, destination, and a sudden movement forward.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/noscript><\/p>\nOur family has always loved going on a journey. There were times when the journey wasn\u2019t particularly comfortable or short, but we loved the prospect of the things to be discovered at the destination, or the reunions with family we journeyed to meet. And when kids came along, things got really interesting on these journeys. They had no concept of time, and would ask every 10 minutes, \u201cAre we there yet?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n I feel like I spent the first part of 2020 asking God the same question: “Are we there yet?”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/noscript><\/p>\nIf the destination is the end of this pandemic, then the answer is no! We\u2019re not there yet. But God has shown us that even though our journey has been hard, it\u2019s still been a good journey because God has walked it with us. So the following question comes up.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h3>\nHas 2020 been a good journey for us as a church?<\/h3>\n I<\/span>f we reframe it to the original meaning of \u201cgood path\u201d or \u201cgood journey,\u201d has 2020 been a <\/span>prosperous <\/span><\/i>year in the biblical sense? Maybe we can find the answer at the end of this blog.<\/span><\/p>\n[ Prosperity and Lifehouse\u2019s 2020 journey ]<\/b><\/p>\n\n Prosperity starts with our souls – Encourage each person in the church to connect with God personally.<\/span><\/li>\n Prosperity can surprise you – Sudden jumps we\u2019ve seen in 2020:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n[ Online content increase (in Japanese\/English) ]<\/strong><\/p>\n\nIncreased reach<\/span><\/li>\nRising leadership<\/span><\/li>\nNew campuses in many regions of Japan and other countries<\/span><\/li>\nUnity of hearts<\/span><\/li>\nNew College Courses (design and video editing)<\/span><\/li>\nStronger Dream Teams\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\nStories of self discovery (new strengths and passion)<\/span><\/li>\nAn abundance of fun online<\/span><\/li>\nPeople discovering the Importance of Family<\/span><\/li>\nCommunity roots strengthened<\/span><\/li>\nNew music, new song writers<\/span><\/li>\nGod\u2019s Word reaching new Demographics<\/span><\/li>\nThe launch of Zoe International School (planned launch April 2021)<\/span><\/li>\nAn increased capacity of vision and heart!<\/span><\/li>\nExcitement and faith for the year 2021 (believing for more)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nI think we can answer the question at the beginning of this blog with a resounding YES<\/strong><\/em><\/span>!<\/span><\/p>\n2020 has been a prosperous year for us as a church, despite all the challenges and hardships that have come along with it. Not only have we prospered but we have also picked up momentum that can take us into 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/noscript><\/p>\nMomentum: What the mathematical equation looks like for us.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n\nDirection:<\/strong> going in one direction, unity<\/span><\/li>\n Speed:<\/strong> increasing<\/span><\/li>\n Mass:<\/strong> reach, leadership<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\nWe take the increase into 2021, but we also take a deeper understanding of what true prosperity is, placing a higher value on relationships and health and being committed to work on them. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
